We aim to create buildings that are appropriate to their natural environments while having have a minimum negative impact on our natural resources.
We follow a holistic approach when considering the numerous requirements of designing, planning, demolishing and building. We consider the factors that might have an influence on the building's performance and envelope such as location, climate, design, mode of construction and the materials to be used.
Where possible, we design buildings that exceed the environmental expectations imposed by local planning laws. We ensure the highest standards of comfort, while targeting low energy consumption, low CO2 emissions and materials that are demountable and recyclable and we ensure that all our printing is done on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved paper.
Alex Cochrane Architects maintain well-established working relationships with a number of environmental consultants.
